2024 – A Resolution on God’s Everlasting Love for the Nation of Israel

Whereas God called Abram out of his birth country unto a new land where He promised him a great nation would come from him (Genesis 12:1-2); and

Whereas God also promised Abram that all the families of the earth would be blessed through that nation and that God would bless those who blessed him and would curse those who cursed him (Genesis 12:3); and

Whereas God further covenanted with Abram by changing his name to Abraham and his wife Sarai’s name to Sarah that their seed would inherit all the land of Canaan and that through them the covenant would be extended through Isaac (Genesis 15; 17) and Jacob (Genesis 50:24; Exodus 2:24) which He confirmed miraculously in their old age (Genesis 18); and

Whereas God’s covenant with Abraham was completed by the promise of the coming Messiah who will fulfill the promise to bless all nations as the sacrificial Lamb to be the offering for the sin of all people (Genesis 22); and

Whereas God has chosen Israel as his choice nation above all other nations (Deuteronomy 7:7-8; 10:15), and has declared His love for them forever (1 Kings 10:9), and has promised them that love even though they have spurned his love many times (Hosea 3; 11), and has assured them that His covenant shall never be removed (Isaiah 54:10); and

Whereas the Land of Israel is God’s inheritance which He has given to Israel as the rightful owners of the Land that He gave them (Exodus 32:13; Numbers 34:29; Deuteronomy 31:7); and

Whereas God has promised to make a new covenant with Israel even though they broke the old covenant over and over and has based His guarantee on His faithfulness which He has displayed throughout His creation and promised that this covenant would be established forever (Jeremiah 31:31-37); and

Whereas the Lord Jesus Christ is the Mediator of this new covenant (Hebrews 8:6) which will be shared by His chosen people with all those who will come to salvation through Him (Galatians 3:13-18) and will be delivered to Israel upon His return for them to save them from the battle of Armageddon (Zechariah 14:1-10; Romans 11:25-28) leading into the Millennial kingdom of our Lord as He rules the earth from the throne of David (Jeremiah 33:14-17).

Be it therefore resolved that the members of the Independent Baptist Fellowship of North America meeting in annual conference on June 18-20, 2024, at Vernon Forest Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC, do hereby declare our support for the nation of Israel.

Be it also resolved that we reject any form of antisemitism or hatred of the Jewish people and condemn any acts of such like done unto them.

Be it further resolved that we reject the heretical teaching of “Replacement Theology” which states that God has replaced Israel with the Church. We see clearly from Scripture that God has established the nation of Israel forever and Israel and the Church are two separate entities both having a distinct place in the family and kingdom of the Lord.

Be it finally resolved that we will honor Israel as the “Apple of the Lord’s Eye (Zechariah 2:8),” and will pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for her physical deliverance and the personal salvation of her people. The Lord Jesus came unto his own nation who rejected Him and did not receive Him (John 1: 11). “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:12-14).”
