2026 – Resolution on Appreciation for Host Church: The Baptist Church of Danbury in Brookfield, CT

The Apostle John wrote affectionate words of appreciation for his beloved fellow-laborer Gaius (3 John 1-8). He rejoiced in his brother’s commitment to the truth. He wrote, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” John’s joy over Gaius and his congregation was the joy of a believer blessed by his family in the Lord. Brothers and Sisters of The Baptist Church of Danbury, we rejoice in your commitment to the truth. “Beloved, [we] wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul[s] prosper.”

In addition to their commitment to truth, the loving hospitality of Gaius and his people blessed the heart of the Apostle. “Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers.” The beneficiaries of these benefactors had borne witness of this charity. This week, dear Brothers and Sisters, we have borne witness to a similar charity.

Thank you for your gifts of love – your warm welcome, your diligent preparations, your expertly prepared and bountiful meals, and the meeting house of your beautiful new campus. Yours is a fellowship in the faith of our “Baptist Heritage” that provided a fitting venue for our consideration of this important theme.

Be assured that the prayers and fellow-labors of your sister-churches of the IBFNA continue for The Baptist Church of Danbury as you continue to serve the Lord in your third century. From its beginning the Lord has used this ministry and your people to bless His churches with a Baptist Heritage for which we give thanks. We trust that He will continue to use you and your ministry to pass that heritage along to those who follow us, by His mercy and faithful grace.
